As stated on Facebook...  
I am now officially Looking For a Job. My previous position was magically transformed into 2 or 3 positions in India, and I'm not willing to go halfway around the world for a pay cut.

Edit: My most recent jobs have been in Software QA and Support, so that's the vicinity in which my experience lies.
Of course, acting for a living would be ideal, but I don't think I could pull that off.

Glad to hear you're not moving to India, at least! But, um, sorry about the job thing. Let me know if you need any pointers on unemployment.

Let's see. Sign up for direct deposit, you get the money much quicker that way. And I find filing the weekly benefits thing easier online than on the phone, although YMMV. You can work a few hour a week and still get unemployment (as long as the total earnings are low enough), if that becomes an option. That's all that comes to mind at the moment, let me know if any questions come up!

Are you LinkedIn? I've found it to be a very effective marketing tool (I got my job through LI). I recommend it. Also, if you want me to take a look at your resume, I'm pretty good at that type of thing. I don't really know a whole lot of people working in QA who are hiring right now, but I can try to work my network a bit.

Suckage about the outsourcing. I'm pretty much useless regarding job search--I work in the construction industry, so no one I know is hiring for anything. I'm always willing to lend a sympathetic ear, though. *hugs*
